Julie Palen
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
With more than 18 years in the technology industry and more than seven years in wireless consulting, development, and management, Julie leads InterNoded with passion and energy.
Julie leads the executive team and drives the strategic partnerships with RIM, Nokia, Good, Microsoft, IBM, Cingular, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless. In addition, she drives many of the new business development opportunities with potential strategic partnerships as well as Fortune 500 customers.
Julie helped shape the strategic direction of the InterNoded Mobile Device Manager, based on customer needs she saw with enterprise customers. Prior to founding InterNoded in 1993, Julie was a business systems analyst at Lotus Development Corporation, where she served on the team that deployed the first seats of Lotus Notes to the sales organization. She frequently speaks at Women Entrepreneur events. She has been honored as one of the leading women entrepreneurs in the world and was recognized as having one of the top 100 women-led businesses in Massachusetts. A strong believer in giving back to the community, Julie supports several philanthropic organizations such as the Women's Inn at the Pine Street Inn and Golf Fights Cancer.
Currently, Julie sits on the board of advisors at the Bertolon School of Business at Salem State College.
Julie holds a bachelor of arts degree in sport, fitness and leisure Studies from Salem State College.
Erwin "Custie" Crampton
Chief Technology Officer
Custie joined InterNoded in August 1995 and directs the Product Development, Managed Services and Support Services teams. Custie is actively involved in customer implementations and brings the concerns of customers into product development plans.
As CTO, Custie is responsible for steering the development of original products and determining the architecture for enterprise business solutions. As a consultant, Custie has helped many companies architect and develop wireless/mobile solutions. With experience in all stages of the enterprise wireless/mobile lifecycle, he has helped companies take on their mobile workforce initiatives with trust and high ROI.
Custie has been on Research in Motion's (RIM) ISV technical roundtable to help give guidance into the direction of the Blackberry Enterprise Server platform and has worked with RIM on the strategy around Hosted Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). InterNoded was the first RIM partner to offer hosted BES to the enterprise market by designing it own proprietary components to allow BES to work in a multi-customer server environment.
Prior to joining InterNoded, Custie worked at IBM/Lotus and was in charge of supporting all external databases, such as Informix, DB2, and Oracle connectivity with Lotus Domino. He is well versed in current technologies such as BlackBerry's JDE, MS SQL, Notes/Domino, Java, LotusScript, Visual Basic, JavaScript, C# and C++.
Custie obtained a bachelor of science in computer science from Plymouth State University.
Laura Bordewieck Rippy
Chief Strategy Officer
Laura joined InterNoded in December 2007 as an Advisory Board member and is responsible for strategy, sales, marketing, analyst and public relations in her role as chief strategy officer.
Laura was chief executive officer of Handango from 1999 to 2003, during the company's period of high growth and success. Under her leadership, Handango grew revenues to $38 million; achieved profitability; partnered with the major leaders of the mobile world, including Palm, Microsoft, Nokia, Motorola, ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint; reached the Inc. 500; and received awards for the Best Place to Work.
Prior to joining Handango, Laura worked at Microsoft for more than six years where she held a series of marketing and executive positions. While there, she founded and led MSN HomeAdvisor and co-founded Sidewalk.com, two award-winning e-commerce sites. As general manager for MSN HomeAdvisor, Laura created the business plan, convinced Microsoft executives to fund the business, hired and led the product team, and drove all aspects of partnerships and marketing. For Sidewalk.com, she created the original business plan, pitched it to senior executives for funding, and drove the first product development priorities. Laura also led the launch of software products in the education category for Microsoft, with special focus on retail and direct marketing channels. Lastly, for Microsoft's Dallas office, Laura led strategic solutions sales of SQL Server and developer tools for Microsoft's enterprise customers.
Currently, Laura is on the Advisory Board for Inrix, the leader in predictive travel information, and Zeemote, creators of the first wireless controller for mobile phones. At InterNoded she is chief strategy officer and an Advisory Board member. Laura is a member of The Boston Club and the Texas Women Ventures Fund.
Laura earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a bachelor of arts degree in government from Dartmouth College.
Chas Douglis
Chief Financial Officer
Chas joined InterNoded in March 2008 to lead the financial team. He brings extensive experience in managing fast-growth high technology firms.
For the past three years through his firm CFOaxis, Chas has worked closely with emerging technology companies to raise growth capital, develop implementable business plans and complete successful exit strategies. His clients included- Sitescape Inc., VoxVue Corporation, Cecropia, Ziggs and Waban Software.
Previously, Chas was the CFO of Visage Inc. (1984-1990) and Veridiem (2000-2001), Inc, both venture-backed technology companies. In his position at both organizations he was responsible for developing operating plans, creating the necessary infrastructure to support rapid growth and managing capital market relationships. In addition to these CFO roles, he was also a Partner at TCGen (2004-2005), a boutique investment banking firm focusing on small to middle market companies.
In 1990, he became the President of Software Productivity Research, a self-funded software and services organization. In this role, he managed all functional areas of the company through a 400% growth period, while maintaining consistent operating profits. He also initiated a strategic initiative in 1996 to re-engineer the company's core product- KnowledgePLAN, which won the prestigious Software Development magazine Productivity Award. In 1998, Chas successfully negotiated the sale of the company.
Chas started his career by spending six years with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (formally Coopers & Lybrand) and servicing large and small clients including, Verizon, TJX, Bolt Beranek & Newman and Raytheon Corporation.
Chas earned his MS in Accounting from Northeastern University (High Honors) and a BA in Political Science from St. Lawrence University. He also passed the CPA exam in Massachusetts.
